Why I do this
For years I watched people, including myself, jump from one extreme plan to the next. Lose some weight, burn out, gain it back, feel worse. The problem was never willpower. It was the all-or-nothing approach.
So I built my coaching around the opposite idea: small, sustainable habits that fit into the life you actually have. As a mom of two daughters with a full schedule, I know there's no such thing as "perfect," and there doesn't need to be. Consistency beats perfection every single time.
I'm a Michigan girl at heart. I studied Exercise Science at Eastern Michigan University, went on to earn a master's in Orthotics and Prosthetics there, and got my personal training (NPTI) and group fitness (AFAA) certifications back in 2011. That same year I opened my first studio, It's Fitness Time, in Ann Arbor.
In 2018 I brought it to Ohio as Fitness Time Dayton, running one-on-one training and small-group boot camps. Over the years that grew into Holden Health, and I added my Precision Nutrition Level 1 certification along the way. These days I also coach at Orangetheory, which keeps me sharp on what actually motivates people. Now I'm back home, working with clients across Metro Detroit and online.
Fitness has always been my own stress relief and my "me time," the thing that keeps me steady through everything else. What I care about is helping you feel strong, capable, and at home in your body, without the guilt, the fads, or the burnout. Whether you're brand new to fitness or starting over for the tenth time, you're welcome here exactly as you are.
When I'm not coaching, you'll find me outside with my two girls, trying new recipes, and proving that you can be both a busy parent and a strong, healthy human.
